Fyi, they have changed to Chinese hot pot. Google Map hasn’t updated.
I really didn’t like the experience here. We got the hotpot, which was $60!!!! That is pricey, not to mention we also had to order $10 extra veggies and $3 ramen because the hotpot only had meat.
The hotpot came out quickly, but we waited 30 mins for the pot to boil!!! The staff said that the fire was weak and then they had to brought our hotpot to the kitchen to boil it, which took another 10 minutes. The hotpot is nothing special, and I feel like the ingredients, except for the meat, were frozen foods. And I would say the hotpot could only serve 2 people. A plus point was that the staff was really caring and was really sorry when we had to wait that long. But definitely not worth $73 and would not come here again.
Look for a door that leads into a small foyer with a lift. Go past the lift and take the stairs on your left. The restaurant’s on the next floor.
Lived in South Korea for 8 months and this is as good as it gets for Dak Galbi! They are generous with their sides and bring water to your table free of charge. Delicious meal.
It is hot, so opt for mild if you think that it may be too hot for your palette.
We got the kimchi cheese dakgalbi and it was good. Very cozy environment and nice spot for a cold day to enjoy some spicy kimchi chicken w/ cheese! Finding the entrance was a bit hard but it’s sandwiched between the kimbap place and the other Korean spot next door (inside the building with the mirror wall) and there’s an elevator (or stairs) at the very end.
Fun restaurant to go with a group! The restaurant was a little hard to find. You have to find the building and take the stairs to the second floor. The food was good, but it was rather expensive. For the orders they require you to buy at least two servings. I would go once to try it, but I probably wouldn’t come back.
One of my favorite spots in Ktown!! We were a group of 5, and ordered 3 portions of the Cheese Dakgalbi and it was definitely enough food for us. Loved the large sizzling platter presentation and the variety of items (fried sweet potato, noodles, rice cakes, etc!). The $10 soju cocktails were very fun drinks as well, the one with the melona bar was my favorite.
Overall a very fun experience and worth the price!
The location is a bit hard to find, as it is located on the second floor of the building. The food is surprisingly good! We two people ordered more than enough! The spicy is real, as I ordered the extra spicy one, and I like it so much! :)
Went with 4 people and got the kimchi dakgalbi (2 servings) was enough to fill all of us up. Total was around $60 without tip
Pretty solid food, we went on a night where it was drizzling so the spicy kimchi cheese dakgalbi definitely hit the spot! The service was pretty good too, multiple bottles of water, utensils, and sides hit the table quicker than I could realize. The ambiance is clean and trendy, but the restaurant was a bit hard to find since you have to go into a building, go up a flight of stairs and only discover the restaurant upon reaching the top and going through an unassuming door. The restaurant is very clearly visible from outside though. The dakgalbi was definitely delicious, but the sides were so-so. I’d still come back again for the dakgalbi!
